I have taken some flack from others about my FREE WEIGHT LOSS post, and have been told that many people need the aid of products to lose weight. So I did some research, and calculated the most popular methods along with the best reviews on each method and I have come up with this TOP 5 LIST of weight loss products.

.

#1 Best Selling & Best Reviews for Weight Loss Product:

THE DIET SOLUTION

This is by far the best selling weight loss program online. It appears to be more women than men use this as most of the positive reviews were left by women. That’s not to say that it wouldn’t work just as well for men. My guess is that more men prefer an emphasis on building muscle.

#2 High Selling with Great Reviews:

The Truth About Abs

This isn’t just an ABS program, or so I am told. It is a weight loss program that focuses on making your waist look great. This is the one popular with men, but the site has a separate area for dedicated to men and to women, so that you can get the information most relevant to you.

#3 Best NO EXERCISE NEEDED way to shed fat

FAT Burning Furnace

The key to this method of weight loss is to trick the hormones in your body to not store fat. Makes sense right? If your body simply stopped storing fat and released the fat stores it currently holds, it wouldn’t matter how much exercise you got in a day. Thousands of people claim this works with very little effort, so it might be something worth seriously looking into.

#4 Longest Success Story with Best Before and After photos!

Burn The Fat

This is Tom Venuto’s world famous program. The photos on this site are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The site has dozens of before and after photos from real people along with their personal information, including first and last names, dates, and testimonials. What amazes me isn’t just how people went from fat to thin, but how muscular everyone looks, even the women have well defined muscles. This program has been going strong since 2002 so I know it works. Very motivational stuff.

#5 Strangest Weight Loss Method To Date

Eat Stop Eat

Honestly, I had never heard of this before, but this seems to be the new hot diet out there. Seems pretty strange to me, and from what I am told it is based on weight training or resistance training along with Flexible Intermittent Fasting. Wow… so eat a lot, work out a lot, and then stop eating all together. (do you stop working out?) You’ll have to check this one out for yourself, but since it is so popular I had to include it.

I still believe you can lose weight by simply eating healthy and exercising, but if you need something extra, whether it be motivation or structured plan, these are the top 5 weight loss products for 2012.

Wishing you a happy and fit 2012

- John Derrick

In the past I have written about Vitamineral Green, (READ HERE) a green superfood. I use to take it every morning for breakfast until I discovered Boku Superfood.

I have been using Boku SuperFood for the last 9 months.

Why do I prefer Boku SuperFood over Vitamineral Green?

Top 10 reasons I switched:

1) Boku is cheaper. (See The Low Amazon Price Here)

UPDATE: Boku is cheapest (when you order here!)
UPDATE:: 25% off the lowest price when you join autoship is
UPDATE:: an amazing deal. Count me in for sure!

2) I think Boku tastes better.

3) Vitamineral Green’s 2nd ingredient is Horsetail grass, which contains nicotine, which is a strong vasoconstrictor. I am watching my blood pressure and certainly don’t need anything that can raise it. Besides, who wants nicotine in their vitamin rich green super food?

4) Boku SuperFood provides the actual break down of vitamins and minerals and for some reason Vitamineral Green does not. So even though I can see what ingredients are in the package, I don’t know how much iodine, magnesium, zinc, selenium, etc. I am getting per serving when I use the Vitamineral green. I asked about this and was told that the recipe for Vitamineral green is constantly changing and no two bottles are the same. That didn’t inspire much confidence in me.

5) Maca Root – this amazing root is a true adaptogen, which means it will go to work differently in each body, adapting to your internal environment and helping you where you need it most. It is best known to increase energy and endurance, stamina, and improve sexual function in both men and women. Studies show improvement in Hypothalamus, Adrenal Galns, Thryoid, Pancreas, Thymus, Testes, Ovaries and Pituitary gland. Maca root is only found in Boku Super Food, not in Vitamineral Green. Do some research online and I bet you’ll want Maca Root in your green formula too!

6) Himalayan Pink Crytal Salt – Considered by many experts to be the worlds perfect salt. Nothing at all like the un-healthy table salt sold in grocery stores. Himalayan salt has 84 minerals and trace elements, whereas table salt is devoid of nutrients and has two minerals. Research Himalayan Pink Crystal Salt, and you’ll see why this is a super food, and in small amounts I believe it to be good for my health. Boku Super Food has it, Vitamineral Green does not.

7) Goji Berry – Goji Berrier are one of the most nutritionally dense foods in existence. They are high in plant-derived polyphenolic antioxidants; carotenoids such as beta-carotene, zeaxanthin, lutein, beta-cryptoxanthin, and lycopene; vitamins C, B1, B2, and niacin; more than 30 essential and trace minerals, including zinc, iron, copper, calcium, selenium, and phosphorus; polysaccharides; and 18 amino acids such as isoleucine, tryptophan, leucine, and arginine. Boku Super Food has it, Vitamineral Green does not.

8 ) Hawthorn Berry – because I am looking to protect my heart and my cardiovascular system. Hawthorn berries have been described as “food for your heart” and are thought to provide nutrients that help keep the heart muscle strong and blood pressure normalized. Boku Super Food has it, Vitamineral Green does not.

9) Boku Super Food is the green food of choice for Natural News and Mike Adams “The Health Ranger”. You can bet Mike has tried ALL the green food out there, and he highly recommends Vitamineral Green also, but the one he chooses to eat/drink everyday is Boku Superfood.

10) Why are these lists always a top 10 and never a top 9? Only 9 reasons are springing to mind, but a “Top 9 reasons” list sounds so lame. I suppose I could make my number ten be the fact that my kids made up a song about Boku SuperFood, and they never did that for Vitamineral Green. Or how about the people at Boku have turned their product name into a verb. I heard this in a video, “Here is how I Boku.” You could never say that with Vitamineral Green.

So that was my Top <del>10</del> 9 list of reasons why I switched from Vitamineral Green to Boku Superfood.

One thing to note is that Boku likes to surprise me with their packaging. My first bottle came shipped in a brown glass bottle, and then it was delivered in a white round tub, and the next month it came in fancy and space saving resealable bag. Two months in a row I got the bag, and then for some reason I was shipped the plastic tub again. This month? Back to the bag. So I never really know what to expect.

Bag or Tub, it doesn’t matter to me. What’s inside is what counts, and what’s inside is always good.

That said, I still think Vitamineral Green is a great product, so don’t fret if you decide to stay with Vitamineral Green.

Check out Boku Super Food – Click Here

It makes sense that by ordering it directly from the product creator you get the best price. This is nearly half the price I used to pay for Vitamineral Green.

I Love My Boku Superfood!

I must confess that I left the raw food diet for Thanksgiving.

My thought was that I would simply go back to raw the day after thanksgiving, but that is not what happened. It was not until yesterday that I returned to eating all raw all day.

Before I tell you what happened, I want to clarify that I didn’t “over eat” on Thanksgiving and eat tons of food. No, not at all. In fact, I only had one plate of food, but I did put a lot of food on that plate. Turkey, mashed potato’s, gravy, rice, deviled eggs, scalloped corn (family recipe). I didn’t even have any stuffing this year.

What happened?

* In about a week I put on 5 lbs. FIVE POUNDS…. egads

* I felt sluggish and tired most of the day(s) and experienced some minor bloating.

* Strangest of all, I had a lot of mucus. I’m not sure I would call it a cold, but I had a lot of mucus in my nose and throat. My wife who also had gone raw with me went off raw for thanksgiving and she too had similar symptoms.

Naturally I could assume that the cold-like symptoms were something contagious, but my two children did not have any cold-like symptoms, which seemed a bit odd at the time.

When I started watching Youtube videos on going raw I found that a LOT of people got “sick” when they came off raw and jumped straight into meat and processed foods. How interesting.

It would seem to me, then, that the cold-like symptoms are not caused by bacteria or a virus, but rather are a reaction of the body to the re-introduction of cooked food.

Because I want that massive energy back and I want to feel healthy and vibrant again, I have decided to go back onto a raw diet, starting yesterday!

1 Day after being back on raw food:

I have lost 2 of the 5 pounds, which says to me that a lot of that may have been water weight, perhaps from the increased salt found in cooked foods. I feel pretty certain that the 5 pounds will be gone within one week of being back on a raw natural diet.

I look forward to feeling great again and dropping even more excess weight.

If anyone is wondering…. no… my wife has not yet decided to re-join me on my raw journey. But I am guessing that once she see’s me bouncing around and feeling great once again she will join me on an all raw diet.

I can’t promise I will eat this way forever, but I can promise that this is what I am doing right now, because it makes me feel great.

Have a great holiday season,

I began eating raw on Monday, Oct 25th, which means that today is day 17.

I have not been 100% raw, but I have been pretty darn close. It turns out that the mixed nuts I have been eating a handful of each day, are unsalted dry roasted. One day I also decided to have some whole wheat pasta my wife made for her and our children.

I THOUGHT that I knew what eating healthy was all about. A little fish and chicken, lots of steamed veggies, some fruits but no too many because they are high in natural sugar… add in some grains but avoid dairy because it clogs up the body. That is what I WAS doing.

Since I have gone raw, the following has happend in 17 days:

Weight Loss: I have dropped 10 pounds in 17 days.

Sleep Better: My sleep has drastically improved (much deeper)

Dreams: I don’t recall having dreams for the last few years, and now I have VIVID life-like dreams each night

Blood Sugar is slightly lower (in the low middle of normal) despite eating a LOT of fruit all day

Blood Pressure has lowered to the best I’ve ever seen as an adult

Higher Energy: My energy is waaaaaay up, at an all time high!

Clear Headed: My head is clear and I can think more clearly now.

Calm and Relaxed: Aggression and anger no longer require self control, it’s like they just melted away.

Stress Reduced: Ability to handle stress has greatly increased.

My wife saw the changes in me, especially the increased energy, and now she is on day 6 of eating raw herself. Her energy has improved dramatically already.

17 days without meat and I feel wonderful. I did not expect this, being a meat eater (and meat lover) in the past. The eating for your blood type people would say that I, being a blood type O, need a lot of meat and that I am a high protein type.

The whole blood type thing always seemed a little bit odd to me. After all, we don’t check the blood types of animals to determine their diet. Every animal on the planet knows what to eat except for us humans. Isn’t that silly?

While I am not expert on the subject, all I can report is how I feel and I feel wonderful. I drink 2 green smoothies a day, which are mostly fruit, and I eat a lot of bananas and apples.

I’ve been monitoring my blood pressure and blood sugar and both of those have improved. I don’t feel any kind of weakness which I normally do on a “d-i-e-t”, so I am guessing I am not losing any muscle mass. Unlike other d-i-e-t-s, I am allowing myself to eat as much and as often as I want. As a matter of fact, I feel like I am eating all day long… a little bit here and a little bit there.

The hunger feeling is VASTLY different now though. I eat because I feel like I need an energy boost. I don’t really eat planned meals anymore and sometimes I go for many hours without eating because I do not have hunger. Cravings has disappeared also.

I am going to research the protein aspect of this way of eating, because it seems as though protein is only 5% of my current diet.

I am not a vegan… and not a vegetarian. I don’t have any strange eating habits except that I do like to eat foods that make me feel good and foods that give me abundant energy.

But I have been a milk drinking, cheese eating dairy lover since I was a small child. I grew up drinking milk every single day in my breakfast cereal and as a snack after school and the drink served with dinner.

A while ago I cut out most of my milk drinking and replaced it with Soy milk. Of course now I am told that soy milk MIGHT be bad… mostly it’s one famous doctor who says soy milk is bad, and even though I have not seen any concrete evidence, the anti-soymilk campaign moves onward. That’s okay, because Almond milk tastes great and so does Oat milk… but I’m sure someone is already writing me an email to tell me the evils of these milks also.

WARNING: Don’t try to detox on your own…

What I want to tell you is shocking…

I had no idea. Honestly. And I like to think that I am “in the know” about a lot of things.

Yes… I did know that dairy is loaded with fat and cholesterol. That is why I limited my intake of it, reasonably.

About a week ago my wife said she had been talking to a friend of her’s and that the two of them had decided to go a week off of dairy. They wanted to know if I would join them.

She had some printed pages that touted all the health benefits, but without a moments hesitation I agreed to join them.

I grabbed the best dairy free cookbook I could find (I love this book) and I was ready to begin. Of course I ate a good deal of dairy on the weekend leading up to the Monday we began the 7 days of no dairy.

I wondered how great would I feel after a week of no dairy? Or perhaps nothing would seem different and 8 days later I would be enjoying a piece of cheese.

Mmmmm Cheese….

BOY WAS I WRONG

Giving up dairy was about as hard as I expected for the first couple of days. By the end of day two I was feeling pretty ill, which is out of the norm for me. Honestly, ever since I flipped my life upside down with the law of attraction I have become a high energy and healthy kind of guy. The kind of guy who always feels great.

Day three, instead of rolling out of bed with enthusiasm and excitement for the day ahead, I woke up feeling more tired than I was when I went to bed.

In fact, I felt groggy and brain foggy all day.

I’ll skip the day-to-day play-by-play, and tell you that for seven days straight I have felt terrible, in different ways. I can’t concentrate… I am experiencing headaches, which is something I never have.

I don’t have the deep down energy, and I tire easily. My stomach is bloated and I am retaining water.

My skin has broken out in three different kinds of rashes in three different places on my body. In general I am itchy… and honestly I am cranky. Strange emotions are coming up… anxiety and anger, which I have not felt in many… many years.

I am even late on the 11 cent sale I promised all of you…. because of this brain fog and lack of energy.

Long story short, going off dairy cold turkey causes the body to go into a detox. When I search online I find claims that going off dairy for one week will cause an entire gallon of mucus to exit your body. Obviously, things are not always pretty.

Today it is 10 days later, and I don’t have any desire to go back. Food tastes great without dairy. It seems that at the 10 day mark, for me at least, the cravings have mostly subsided.

Now many of you know that I quit smoking cold turkey the day my son was born. I was in the room with my wife and waiting for our little baby boy to be born, and I really needed a cigarette. The moment he came out and I cut that cord, I KNEW RIGHT THEN I would never smoke again, because I wanted to be around to see my son grow up. Even though I was a bar tender back then, and I worked around smokers who all tried to taunt me into picking the habit back up (many smokers can’t stand ex-smokers among them) It is a promise that I have always kept. As a matter of fact, it was Aug 1st, 1999 when I stopped smoking… 9 years and 12 days and counting…

.

I CAN HONESTLY SAY…

QUITING DAIRY IS HARDER THAN QUITING CIGARETTES

Seriously….

My body never went through this kind of hell when I quit smoking. Sure, I have cravings… and it was difficult… but I didn’t get bad breath, skin rashes, headaches, lack of energy, bloating, water retention, and a host of other not-so-pleasant physical problems.

The only craving I have is for cheese. I LOVED CHEESE. Now I know why…

THIS IS GOING TO BLOW YOU AWAY

Cheese is actually physically addictive… no kidding. I must have missed the Surgeon Generals Warning label on the block of cheese.

YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT DRUG IS INSIDE CHEESE!!!

Check this out:

So here is an excerpt from an article in the Orlando Sentinel July 13 2003:

Of all the potentially addicting foods, cheese may be the most complex. In research studies using vegan and vegetarian diets to control cholesterol or reduce body weight, most participants soon forget the lure of ice cream, sour cream, and even burgers and chicken. But for many people, the taste for cheese lingers on and on. Yes, 70 percent of its calories may come from waist-augmenting fat, and, ounce for ounce, it may harbor more cholesterol than a steak. But that cheese habit is tough to break. Why is cheese so addicting? Certainly not because of its aroma, which is perilously close to old socks. The first hint of a biochemical explanation came in 1981, when scientists at Wellcome Research Laboratories in Research Triangle Park, N.C., found a substance in dairy products that looked remarkably like morphine. After a complex series of tests, they determined that, surprisingly enough, it actually was morphine. By a fluke of nature, the enzymes that produce opiates are not confined to poppies — they also hide inside cows’ livers. So traces of morphine can pass into the animal’s bloodstream and end up in milk and milk products. The amounts are far too small to explain cheese’s appeal. But nonetheless, the discovery led scientists on their search for opiate compounds in dairy products.

And they found them. Opiates hide inside casein, the main dairy protein. As casein molecules are digested, they break apart to release tiny opiate molecules, called casomorphins. One of these compounds has about one-tenth the opiate strength of morphine. The especially addicting power of cheese may be due to the fact that the process of cheese-making removes water, lactose and whey proteins so that casein is concentrated. Scientists are now trying to tease out whether these opiate molecules work strictly within the digestive tract or whether they pass into the bloodstream and reach the brain directly.

(some paragraphs about chocolate addiction snipped)

The cheese industry is miles ahead of them, having gone to great lengths to identify people who are most vulnerable to addiction. It dubs them “cheese cravers,” and tracks their age, educational level and other demographics so as to target them with marketing strategies that are tough to ignore. With a $200 million annual research and marketing budget, the dairy industry is not content to have you just sprinkling a little mozzarella on your salad. It is looking for those Americans who will eat it straight out of the package, whatever the cost to their waistlines or cholesterol levels.

At a “Cheese Forum” held Dec. 5, 2000, Dick Cooper, the vice president of Cheese Marketing for Dairy Management Inc., laid out the industry’s scheme for identifying potential addicts and keeping them hooked. In his slide presentation, which was released to our organization under the Freedom of Information Act, he asked the question, “What do we want our marketing program to do?” and then gave the answer: “Trigger the cheese craving.” He described how, in a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the dairy industry launched Wendy’s Cheddar Lover’s Bacon Cheeseburger, which single-handedly pushed 2.25 million pounds of cheese during the promotion period. That works out to 380 tons of fat and 1.2 tons of pure cholesterol in the cheese alone. A similar promotion with Pizza Hut launched the “Ultimate Cheese Pizza,” which added an entire pound of cheese to a single pizza and sold five million pounds of it during a six-week promotion in 2000. The presentation concluded with a cartoon of a playground slide with a large spider web woven to trap children as they reached the bottom. The caption had one spider saying to another, “If we pull this off, we’ll eat like kings.”

I am sharing this with you because I care. I wish someone had told me how harsh detoxing could be.

I wish someone had told me how addictive Cheese can by. Or even mentioned the morphine compound found inside.

I’m the kind of guy who turns down pain pills, even after a surgery…

I never knew I was ingesting Morphine with my cheese and crackers.

So if you decide to clean your body up… and want to cleanse yourself without all the horrible side-effects that I have had… you really need to READ THIS NOW.

Overwhelmingly I support the Master Cleanse if you want to purify your body.

Me… I just made a split second decision to join my wife and her friend… I decided to make myself the subject of an experiment if you will…

For those of you wondering about my wife and her friend. YES… they had a rough ride also, including migraine headaches (much worse than mine), irritability, skin breakouts (body acne), and emotional instability (although don’t tell my wife I pointed that out… at least not until she is over the detoxing)

And that is what they cared to share… most people are not as forthcoming with their dirty details like I am. What can I say… I try to live my life like an open book… for all to see, observe and hopefully learn from my mistakes.

Oh yes… there has been a positive thing about this diary detox so far…. I have lost 5 pounds even though I feel like I am eating more than usual, and my wife has lost 4 pounds.. her friend didn’t offer up any weight related conversation.

SO… if you want to go off dairy please don’t let this scare you. Instead, just do it slowly. If I had known then what I know now, I would have simply cut my intake of dairy items down over a 2 – 3 week period and went off it slowly.

Knowing what I know now… I just can’t bring myself to ingest anything dairy.

Wishing you the best day,
