			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-462" style="border: 0pt none; margin: 5px 10px;" title="Health and The Law of Attraction" src="http://johnderrick.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/medical_symbol2-300x250.jpg" alt="Health and The Law of Attraction" width="254" height="211" />Each night before I go to bed I use my <a href="http://www.manifestingcards.com/" target="_blank">Manifesting Card</a> to shape my personal world around me.  For the last few months, one of the things I have written on my Manifesting Card is a statement where I am thankful for my perfect health.</p>
<p>When I read the card I allow myself to feel healthy.  I imagine myself with a body that is stronger and full of more vigor.</p>
<p>I lay on my back and with my eyes closed, just before falling asleep, I use the <a href="http://www.extraordinaryhealthmeditation.com/" target="_blank">Extraordinary Health visualization/meditation</a> As I use this simple technique, I  actually feel stronger and feel healthier.</p>
<p>Now most of you who know me know that it was using the  Manifesting Cards method that allowed me to shed over 100lbs of unwanted body weight.</p>
<p>Manifesting Cards work, but for health&#8230;  I combined the power of Law of Attraction with mind over matter healing and simply relaxed myself to sleep using <a href="http://www.extraordinaryhealthmeditation.com/" target="_blank">this meditation</a></p>
<p>Amazingly, I was able to cure two conditions that doctors told me were &#8220;incurable&#8221;.</p>
<p>But right now, I am not trying to overcome anything in particular.   I am just using the Extraordinary Health meditation,  even though I am healthy, because I know that without health nothing else matters.</p>
<p><strong>Something Very Unexpected Has Happened&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>But first, I want to speak to anyone who doesn&#8217;t think that health is the most important aspect in your life.   I have worked with people in the past who thought money was more important than health, but I always begin by asking them what good would 10 million dollars do you if you had a terminal disease that was going to kill you tomorrow?</p>
<p>Money is important, but not more important than your health.</p>
<p>Love is important, but love is stronger, deeper and longer lasting when the people in love are healthy and not suffering from body pains.</p>
<p>Some people crave power.  While this is not one that I can relate to, because the only power I want is power over my own life, I still have to ask the power hungry person what good would all the power in the world do you if you didn&#8217;t have power over your own health?</p>
<p>It is my opinion that health needs to come first.</p>
<p>So as I mentioned earlier, I have been doing this for the last few months and I have had a few strange things happen.</p>
<p><strong>Before I share my amazing results, I have to set the record straight:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p><strong>For the record</strong>: I am not making any medical claims nor am I a doctor.  I am just sharing my own personal experience with the world.  I am not trying to diagnose or cure anyone.</p></blockquote>
<p>Now, with that out of the way, here is my story:</p>
<p>First, I had a doctors exam, and my doctor ran a full panel of blood tests&#8230;.  Much to both of our surprise -  everything came<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-463" style="border: 0pt none; margin: 5px;" title="blood-test" src="http://johnderrick.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/blood-test.jpg" alt="blood-test" width="210" height="227" /> back normal.  Now when I say everything , I mean EVERYTHING.</p>
<p>My white blood cell count, my HDL, LDL, triglycerides, liver enzymes,  RBC, Hct, Hbg, MCV, MCH, RDW, and all the other things they measure (most of which I am never told what they mean unless one or more of them are too high or too low) all came back perfect.</p>
<p>I have been getting blood tests once a year since I was in my twenties and there has ALWAYS been SOMETHING that the doctor wanted to warn me about.  In the past I have had high liver enzymes that made the doctor suspect a fatty liver.  I had a high white blood cell count which led the doctor to think I had some kind of underlying infection.  I have had high &#8220;bad&#8221; cholesterol  and I even had &#8220;low&#8221; good cholesterol show up twice.  I have had borderline values in various things that led the doctor to tell me we were going to &#8220;keep an eye on that with a followup test in 6 months&#8221;.</p>
<p>Here I am, closing in on 40 and my blood test comes back perfect&#8230;  <strong>EVERYTHING </strong>exactly where it needs to be!</p>
<p>For that, I am very grateful and happy.</p>
<p><strong>But last week I had something equally amazing happen.</strong></p>
<p>I started getting headaches and I noticed that it appeared to be coming from my eyes.  When I put my glasses on my vision seemed to be worse than it was without my glasses.</p>
<p>I have been near sighted since I was a child.</p>
<p>I decided it must be time for an eye exam and I suspected that I may need a stronger prescription for my lenses.  It had been at least two years since my last eye exam.</p>
<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-464" style="border: 1px solid black; margin: 5px;" title="vision" src="http://johnderrick.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/vision-300x225.jpg" alt="vision" width="214" height="160" />I went in and had a full eye exam and to my surprise I was told that my left eye had somehow become nearly perfect and that it no longer needed  a correcting.</p>
<p>My right eye had improved some, but the prescription he wrote for it was so mild that he said he wasn&#8217;t sure it would be worth getting glasses for.</p>
<p>This is why things appeared more blurry to me WITH my glasses than it did without my glasses.</p>
<p>I showed him my old glasses and he thought that someone had not done a good eye exam and had incorrectly given me far to strong of lenses.  I tried to reassure him that these glasses used to work great for me but he doubted it possible that eyes would be improving and found it more likely that my previous eye exam, which was done by different eye doctor, was flawed.</p>
<p>So, after three to four months of consistently using the <a href="http://www.extraordinaryhealthmeditation.com/" target="_blank">Extraordinary Health Meditation</a> each night just before falling asleep, my health REALLY does seem to be improving.  I feel better and a blood test and even an eye exam seem to back it up.</p>
<p>Skeptics would call it a coincidence or luck.</p>
<p>I like to call it &#8220;Creating My Own Luck&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>Needless to say&#8230;.  I AM VERY EXCITED.</strong></p>

<p>Life was more exciting and full of promise.  I believed I would change the world, and even though I have embarked on a career that has helped many people, when I was a child possibilities were limitless.</p>
<p>One of the amazing things about being a child is getting to do things for the first time.  The world was new and exciting.  Every experience had a first time and nothing compares to the excitement of doing something for the first time.</p>
<p>Remember your first kiss?</p>
<p>Even though I love my wife very much, a simple peck on the lips these days is common place and in fact is expected whenever we part each others company or when she comes home after being out all day.</p>
<p>Remember the first time you drove a car?</p>
<p>My nerves were screaming as I drove my parents car down the highway at night.  Sure, it was a straight stretch of road and today I drive without even noticing it, but the first time was a very different kind of experience.</p>
<p>Those first times make you feel alive.</p>
<p>The first time you vacation somewhere everything it new.  The first time I went to Las Vegas was far more exciting than the third time.  My first trip to Victoria, British Columbia was wonderful and more exciting and fun than any time I have visited since.</p>
<p>How long has it been since you felt alive?</p>
<p>Now that I am in my thirties I have to admit that most of what I do I have done many times before.  It may be comforting, but it doesn&#8217;t feel as exciting and vibrant as doing something for the first time.</p>
<p>It doesn&#8217;t take any money to do something new.  In fact, you can take something that you do regularly and change it up so that you are doing it in a way that is new and exciting.</p>
<p>Even something as mundane as taking a shower.  Sure, the first time you took a shower by yourself it was probably pretty exciting.  You were not sure how to get the water exactly right and didn&#8217;t know how long it would last.  There were new sights and smells and even the feel of the water falling onto your body was a new experience.</p>
<p>Tonight I decided to do something new.  It was on a whim.  Something that I had never done before.  I took a shower in the dark.</p>
<p>If you are anything like my wife, you probably think I am a bit off my rocker, but I assure you that taking a shower in the dark, at least for me, was an exciting new experience.</p>
<p>It was completely dark, so just moving in the bathroom was a new experience.  I noticed that I kept the water extra hot, probably because the blackness around me felt so cold.  Every noise in the house stood out.  Reaching for the shampoo was no problem, but I had to use my sense of smell to find the right bottle among the many bottles that belong to my wife.  Rinsing soap I could not see was an interesting experience.</p>
<p>In essence, I took an otherwise mundane experience and made it into something completely new.</p>
<p>Another option is to take a cold shower, where you only turn on the cold water.  WOW&#8230;  that is completely different from what I am used to also.  I guarantee you will feel awake after one of those&#8230;  if you can stand it for the length of a full shower.</p>
<p>I just rearranged the furniture in my house and now every room has that new exciting feeling.  My front room is so different that every day when I walk out into it I am surprised.  Sure, the effect will only last for a week or two at tops&#8230;.  that&#8217;s because I will soon be used to it this way.</p>
<p>The other day I bought a new piece of software for editing videos.  The first hour I thought to myself &#8220;wow, this is nothing like I&#8217;ve ever used before&#8221;.  Now, a just a couple days later it has already lost it&#8217;s excitement and is just another tool that I enjoy using.</p>
<p>How many gadgets have you bought and were excited to use it for the first time?  New cell phones are a great example of this.  It&#8217;s exciting to open the box and play with the new phone discovering all the features, but a month or two later it&#8217;s just a phone.</p>
<p>Here are some ideas of ways you can feel young again,</p>
<p><strong>1. Go to a new restaurant</strong></p>
<p>Try to pick somewhere with a new kind of food that you have never tried. Mexican, Greek, Indian, Russian, Middle Eastern, Tai, Chinese, Mongolian, Cajun, Sushi, or something you have never tried before.</p>
<p><strong>2. Try a new sport you&#8217;ve never tried.</strong></p>
<p><strong>3. Try using your non-dominant hand for a day.</strong><br />
It&#8217;s amazing how strange it feels to do something with my left hand.  Even something as simple as signing my own name.</p>
<p><strong>4. Take part in an activity new to you</strong>&#8230;<br />
Try your hand at bingo or a play a game of pool or use a batting cage.  The world is full of activities that most of us have not tried.  You don&#8217;t have to be good at it in order to enjoy doing something new.</p>
<p><strong>5. Get involved with a charity or community service.<br />
</strong>Volunteering is a great way to interact with others and give back to the community at the same time. And sharing your time is not just good for your <em>mental</em> health. Researchers at Johns Hopkins University, found that as older adults participated in Experience Corps, they showed both mental <em>and</em> physical improvements, including increased strength and endurance. By choosing activities that are personally rewarding, you may discover similar benefits.</p>
<p><strong>6. Be a tourist in your own town!</strong><br />
You&#8217;ll be surprised how much there is to do right where you live!  Contact your local chamber of commerce or look your city or area up in Google.com  and you&#8217;ll be amazed at what you find to do and sights to see you probably never seen in your own area.</p>
<p><strong>7.  Join a Local Group.<br />
</strong>You can check out the website:  <a href="http://www.meetup.com/" target="_blank">http://www.meetup.com/</a> and see what is going on where you live.  There are thousands of groups of people getting together for everything you can imagine and more.</p>
<p><strong>8. Explore a new area. </strong><br />
It doesn&#8217;t have to be anywhere in specific, you could drive to a city that you have never been to before and spend the day exploring all the neat sights, sounds and local shops.  If you prefer the outdoors, when not hike a new trail or visit a lake or camp grounds you&#8217;ve never been to.</p>
<p><strong>9. Explore New Romance, or Re-Kindle An Existing Romance. </strong><br />
It doesn&#8217;t matter how long you have been together with your spouse, you can rekindle that spark and find brand new excitement.  Share a candlelit dinner, create a thoughtful gift or take your partner out dancing.  Suprise him or her with something brand new and you may just find yourself pleasantly surprised with a new romantic excitement&#8230;  just like in the &#8220;good ole days&#8221;.</p>
<p>If your single, try dating someone unique or unusual and explore outside your normal comfort zone.</p>

<p><strong>Your Habits!</strong></p>
<p>As you sit and read this, everything about you has been created by yesterday&#8217;s habits.</p>
<p>No, I am not talking about bad habits such as smoking.  I am talking about the habits that make up everyday life.  For example, if you go to bed about the same time each night, then when you go to bed has become a habit.</p>
<p>Truth be told&#8230;.  You are a collection of habits.</p>
<p>Are you overweight?  Unhealthy?  Low in energy?  Then most likely you have a habit of eating unhealthy foods.  <a href="http://www.johnderrick.com/ns/eat-right-feel-good/" target="_blank">Eating Healthy</a> can be easy and fun&#8230;.  and even though it is only a small part of your life, it can have drastic changes, such as:  Weight Loss, Increased Energy, quicker healing, less illnesses, younger looking hair and skin, and reversing a whole slew of problems extra weight can cause.</p>
<p>Eating bad foods are not a problem.  You can eat Pizza and ice cream&#8230;.  it&#8217;s the habit of eating poorly that IS the problem.  If you have a habit of eating healthy and only eat pizza on occasion, then pizza will not be a problem.   (Unless of course you decide to <a href="http://johnderrick.com/miscellaneous/unusual-news/shocking-dairy-detox-this-will-blow-your-mind/" target="_blank">go off dairy completely </a>like me)</p>
<p>Habits can work for you&#8230; or they can work against you.  <a href="http://www.johnderrick.com/ns/eat-right-feel-good/" target="_blank">Eating healthy</a> is obviously one habit that works for you.</p>
<p><a href="http://youcanthinkpositive.com/" target="_blank">Thinking Positively </a>is another great habit.  I was raised in a household of extremely negative people.  It has taken me many years to develop a positive outlook on life.</p>
<p>I promise you, <a href="http://youcanthinkpositive.com/" target="_blank">positive thinking</a> is a habit that will benefit you tremendously.  Not only will your health improve (lower blood pressure and lower risks for many diseases), but you will enjoy life more.</p>

<p>The best positive habit I have is my daily use of the <a href="http://www.manifestingcards.com/" target="_blank">Manifesting Cards</a>.  This habit actively shapes my life each day.  Sure, it only takes a few minutes twice a day, but it keeps my mind focused and it gets me what I want.  Every single time.  Without fail.</p>
<p>I used to be a drinker in my early twenties.  It was a habit that I gave up.  Do I still drink?  On occasion I do.  I gave up the habit, but I don&#8217;t tell myself I can&#8217;t have a drink.</p>
<p>In fact, if I try to tell myself I can&#8217;t have something, I find myself wanting it even more.  So I never forbid anything that I enjoy.  I merely remove the habit of its use if it is not beneficial.</p>
<p>Many people fail because they forbid themselves things&#8230;  such as the foods you enjoy.  It&#8217;s not the food&#8230;  it is the habit of eating that food (if it&#8217;s bad for you) that is the problem.</p>
<p><strong>HINT:</strong> When you make a habit out of <a href="http://www.johnderrick.com/ns/eat-right-feel-good/" target="_blank">eating healthy</a>, you will find yourself enjoying the flavor of healthy foods.  (Take a look at <a href="http://eleven-eleven.biz/dairyfree-cookbook/index.php" target="_blank">this Cookbook</a> as an example)</p>
<p>This line of thinking can be applied to any part of your life.  If you want something, set up a habit that brings you closer to having what it is that you want.</p>
<p>If you want to shed fat, set up a habit of cutting a few calories.  Or perhaps create a habit of exercise.  (Nothing is stopping you from doing both.)</p>
<p>A great way to improve you life is to identify your habits and find which habits work for you and which habits work against you.  Once you know, you can adjust your habits by making small changes in your daily life, and in the end you will be rewarded with HUGE positive changes.</p>

I don&#8217;t have any strange eating habits except that<a href="http://www.johnderrick.com/ns/eat-right-feel-good/" target="_blank"> I do like to eat foods that make me feel good</a> and <a href="http://www.johnderrick.com/ns/eat-right-feel-good/" target="_blank">foods that give me abundant energy</a>.</p>
<p>But I have been a milk drinking, cheese eating dairy lover since I was a small child.  I grew up drinking milk every single day in my breakfast cereal and as a snack after school and the drink served with dinner.</p>
<p>A while ago I cut out most of my milk drinking and replaced it with Soy milk.  Of course now I am told that soy milk MIGHT be bad&#8230;  mostly it&#8217;s one famous doctor who says soy milk is bad, and even though I have not seen any concrete evidence, the anti-soymilk campaign moves onward.  That&#8217;s okay, because Almond milk tastes great and so does Oat milk&#8230;  but I&#8217;m sure someone is already writing me an email to tell me the evils of these milks also.</p>

<p>I had no idea.  Honestly.  And I like to think that I am &#8220;in the know&#8221; about a lot of things.</p>
<p>Yes&#8230; I did know that dairy is loaded with fat and cholesterol.   That is why I limited my intake of it, reasonably.</p>
<p>About a week ago my wife said she had been talking to a friend of her&#8217;s and that the two of them had decided to go a week off of dairy.  They wanted to know if I would join them.</p>
<p>She had some printed pages that touted all the health benefits, but without a moments hesitation I agreed to join them.</p>
<p>I grabbed<a href="http://eleven-eleven.biz/dairyfree-cookbook/index.php" target="_blank"> the best dairy free cookbook</a> I could find (<a href="http://eleven-eleven.biz/dairyfree-cookbook/index.php" target="_blank">I love this book</a>) and I was ready to begin.  Of course I ate a good deal of dairy on the weekend leading up to the Monday we began the 7 days of no dairy.</p>
<p>I wondered how great would I feel after a week of no dairy?  Or perhaps nothing would seem different and 8 days later I would be enjoying a piece of cheese.</p>
<p>Mmmmm  Cheese&#8230;.</p>
<p><strong>BOY WAS I WRONG</strong></p>
<p>Giving up dairy was about as hard as I expected for the first couple of days.  By the end of day two I was feeling pretty ill, which is out of the norm for me.  Honestly, ever since I flipped my life upside down with the <a href="http://www.mysecretcourse.com/" target="_blank">law of attraction</a> I have become a high energy and healthy kind of guy.  The kind of guy who always feels great.</p>
<p>Day three, instead of rolling out of bed with enthusiasm and excitement for the day ahead, I woke up feeling more tired than I was when I went to bed.</p>
<p>In fact, I felt groggy and brain foggy all day.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll skip the day-to-day play-by-play, and tell you that for seven days straight I have felt terrible, in different ways.  I can&#8217;t concentrate&#8230;  I am experiencing headaches, which is something I never have.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t have the deep down energy, and I tire easily.  My stomach is bloated and I am retaining water.</p>
<p>My skin has broken out in three different kinds of rashes in three different places on my body.  In general I am itchy&#8230; and honestly I am cranky.  Strange emotions are coming up&#8230; anxiety and anger, which I have not felt in many&#8230; many years.</p>
<p>I am even <a href="http://johnderrick.com/11-cent-sales/the-next-11-cent-sale/" target="_blank">late on the 11 cent sale </a>I promised all of you&#8230;. because of this brain fog and lack of energy.</p>
<p>Long story short, going off dairy cold turkey causes the body to go into a detox.  When I search online I find claims that going off dairy for one week will cause an entire gallon of mucus to exit your body.   Obviously, things are not always pretty.</p>
<p>Today it is 10 days later, and I don&#8217;t have any desire to go back. <a href="http://eleven-eleven.biz/dairyfree-cookbook/index.php" target="_blank">Food tastes great without dairy.</a> It seems that at the 10 day mark, for me at least, the cravings have mostly subsided.</p>

The moment he came out and I cut that cord, I KNEW RIGHT THEN I would never smoke again, because I wanted to be around to see my son grow up. Even though I was a bar tender back then, and I worked around smokers who all tried to taunt me into picking the habit back up (many smokers can&#8217;t stand ex-smokers among them) It is a promise that I have always kept. As a matter of fact, it was Aug 1st, 1999 when I stopped smoking&#8230; 9 years and 12 days and counting&#8230;</p>

<p>My body never went through this kind of hell when I quit smoking.  Sure, I have cravings&#8230;  and it was difficult&#8230;  but I didn&#8217;t get bad breath, skin rashes, headaches, lack of energy, bloating, water retention, and a host of other not-so-pleasant physical problems.</p>
<p>The only craving I have is for cheese.  I LOVED CHEESE.  Now I know why&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>THIS IS GOING TO BLOW YOU AWAY</strong></p>
<p>Cheese is actually physically addictive&#8230;   no kidding.  I must have missed the Surgeon Generals Warning label on the block of cheese.</p>
<p><strong>YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT DRUG IS INSIDE CHEESE!!!</strong></p>

<p>So here is an excerpt from an article in the Orlando Sentinel July 13 2003:</p>
<blockquote><p>Of all the potentially addicting foods, cheese may be the most complex. In research studies using vegan and vegetarian diets to control cholesterol or reduce body weight, most participants soon forget the lure of ice cream, sour cream, and even burgers and chicken. But for many people, the taste for cheese lingers on and on. Yes, 70 percent of its calories may come from waist-augmenting fat, and, ounce for ounce, it may harbor more cholesterol than a steak. But that cheese habit is tough to break.Why is cheese so addicting? Certainly not because of its aroma, which is perilously close to old socks. The first hint of a biochemical explanation came in 1981, when scientists at Wellcome Research Laboratories in Research Triangle Park, N.C., found a substance in dairy products that looked remarkably like morphine. After a complex series of tests, they determined that, surprisingly enough, it actually was morphine. By a fluke of nature, the enzymes that produce opiates are not confined to poppies &#8212; they also hide inside cows&#8217; livers. So traces of morphine can pass into the animal&#8217;s bloodstream and end up in milk and milk products. The amounts are far too small to explain cheese&#8217;s appeal. But nonetheless, the discovery led scientists on their search for opiate compounds in dairy products.</p>
<p>And they found them. Opiates hide inside casein, the main dairy protein. As casein molecules are digested, they break apart to release tiny opiate molecules, called casomorphins. One of these compounds has about one-tenth the opiate strength of morphine. <span style="color: #ff0000;">The especially addicting power of cheese may be due to the fact that the process of cheese-making removes water,lactose and whey proteins so that casein is concentrated.</span> Scientists are now trying to tease out whether these opiate molecules work strictly within the digestive tract or whether they pass into the bloodstream and reach the brain directly.</p>

<p><span style="color: #ff0000;">The cheese industry is miles ahead of them, having gone to great lengths to identify people who are most vulnerable to addiction. It dubs them &#8220;cheese cravers,&#8221; and tracks their age, educational level and other demographics so as to target them with marketing strategies that are tough to ignore.</span> With a $200 million annual research and marketing budget, the dairy industry is not content to have you just sprinkling a little mozzarella on your salad. It is looking for those Americans who will eat it straight out of the package, whatever the cost to their waistlines or cholesterol levels.</p>
<p>At a &#8220;Cheese Forum&#8221; held Dec. 5, 2000, Dick Cooper, the vice president of Cheese Marketing for Dairy Management Inc., laid out the industry&#8217;s scheme for identifying potential addicts and keeping them hooked. <span style="color: #ff0000;">In his slide presentation, which was released to our organization under the Freedom of Information Act, he asked the question, &#8220;What do we want our marketing program to do?&#8221; and then gave the answer: &#8220;Trigger the cheese craving.&#8221; He described how, in a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the dairy industry launched Wendy&#8217;s Cheddar Lover&#8217;s Bacon Cheeseburger, which single-handedly pushed 2.25 million pounds of cheese during the promotion period</span>. That works out to 380 tons of fat and 1.2 tons of pure cholesterol in the cheese alone. A similar promotion with Pizza Hut launched the &#8220;Ultimate Cheese Pizza,&#8221; which added an entire pound of cheese to a single pizza and sold five million pounds of it during a six-week promotion in 2000. <span style="color: #ff0000;">The presentation concluded with a cartoon of a playground slide with a large spider web woven to trap children as they reached the bottom. The caption had one spider saying to another, &#8220;If we pull this off, we&#8217;ll eat like kings.&#8221;</span></p></blockquote>
<p>I am sharing this with you because I care.   I wish someone had told me how harsh detoxing could be.</p>

<p>SO&#8230;  if you want to go off dairy please don&#8217;t let this scare you.   Instead, just do it slowly.  If I had known then what I know now, I would have simply cut my intake of dairy items down over a 2 &#8211; 3 week period and went off it slowly.</p>
<p>Knowing what I know now&#8230;  I just can&#8217;t bring myself to ingest anything dairy.</p>

<p>I was carrying in one of the large 5 gallon jugs to put on top of the cooler when it struck me.  This 5 gallon water jug weighs about 40 lbs.   It&#8217;s not surprising that when I am carrying one  I can feel the strain in my back and in my legs.  Because the jugs have a handle built into them, I often carry them two at a time.  That&#8217;s 10 gallons of water and over 80lbs.</p>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s What IS Surprising</strong></p>
<p>I have lost over 100lbs in weight.  That means that I have lost more weight than two 5 gallon water jugs.  When I am carrying all this water and feeling the strain it puts on my body&#8230;.  I know that my body use to have that strain on it everywhere I went.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t quite wrap my mind around that.  How could I lose the weight of 12 gallons of water?  Logically I would presume that the volume to fat and water would be similar, but I simply can not imagine that I had an added body volume equivalent to 12 gallons of water.</p>
<p>It certainly puts things into a new perspective.</p>

<p>Pesticides , food additives and preservatives, none of those would be needed if we didn&#8217;t have such a large population to feed, spread out over such a large geographical area.</p>
<p>Chlorine in the drinking water, mercury in the soil, pollution in the air, mistreatment of animals (livestock), super germs, rampant spread of diseases such as the flu&#8230;.   None of these would be a problem if the human race had a smaller foot print on the planet.  (AKA:  Less people)</p>
<p>I am not treading on anyones right to procreate, but&#8230;  when two people have six children,  is it good for the human population as a whole?  Obviously the parents decided for whatever reason that it was good for them, but what about the larger picture?  Is it even good for the kids?</p>
<p>I think we can all make a difference if we begin treating each other with compassion.  It&#8217;s easy for some people to pollute someone else&#8217;s drinking water if they lack compassion.  Simply putting yourself into the shoes of the other person is all it takes.  Would you want to drink polluted water?</p>
<p>This individual mentality of &#8220;what can I get for me&#8221; must evolve into a &#8220;what is good for us all&#8221; if we want to survive as a species.</p>

Money merely intensifies your ability to effect the world around you.   You can do more good with money than you can without it. If you felt the need to use the word &#8220;evil&#8221;, it might be more fitting to say that &#8220;Selfishness is the root of all evil&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>Compassion  is the solution.</strong></p>
<p>Treat our food supply in a way that you would be proud to feed your own children.   Take a job that helps others in some way.  Think about the impact on the planet before you throw your old cellphone into the garbage. Be the change that you want to see in the world.</p>
<p>Compassion is contagious.  Whenever you go out of your way to treat someone kindly,  they in turn will treat everyone they meet that day differently.  It spreads.  It has an effect.</p>
<p>So please&#8230; for the good of every human alive&#8230;.  let&#8217;s all try to live our lives with more compassion for others.</p>

I am on a lot of people&#8217;s email list these days.  Maybe I signed up for all of them or maybe I didn&#8217;t.  Either way, I am getting a lot of email each day.</p>
<p>A lot of the emails I get are written in a &#8220;I&#8217;ve made it big and you haven&#8217;t&#8221; format.  It doesn&#8217;t seem to matter what the field is, it could be health related, business related or internet marketing related.  They all imply that they are where I want to be and unless I hand over X amount of dollars I will never sit where they are sitting.</p>
<p>Most of these emails revolve around money.  The author of the email claims to be filthy stinking rich, and he promises to make me rich beyond my dreams if I just pay him $2,500 to learn what he knows.  Then I can sit back and relax on the beach drinking fruity umbrella drinks like him for the rest of my life.</p>
<p>Logically I wonder why someone who is so rich would need my small contribution, but that is not my point here.</p>
<p><strong>My Point Is This:</strong></p>
<p>Life is not about the destination.  I spent a lot of my life putting things off until I had achieved a goal.  For example I put off a lot of things I wanted to do because I was overweight.  I put off doing things I absolutely loved because I was waiting to live my life after I had reached a destination.</p>
<p><strong>WAKE UP.      Life is happening to you right now!</p>
<p>Life doesn&#8217;t start when you are thin, or when you are rich.</strong></p>
<p>Life is what happens along the way to your destination.  Once you arrive you will continue to grow and expand in ways you might not imagine now.  You will find new goals to set and new places to go.  You will continue to grow and learn&#8230;. and live!</p>
<p>If you become a millionaire, which I fully intend to do, that&#8217;s great, but don&#8217;t put off living until you are there.  Live life now.  Enjoy every second.  <strong>HINT: </strong><em>The more you enjoy your life the quicker you will progress toward your goals.</em></p>
<p>I would certainly never spend money to watch the only the ending to a movie.  When I sit down to watch a movie I want to see the journey.  I want to see everything the led up to the ending, or else the ending has no meaning to me.</p>
<p>When people go to a sporting event they want to see the entire game that leads up to the ending.  Yes, the end score counts, but it&#8217;s the journey to that destination that makes it exciting.</p>
<p>I intend to live my life to the fullest each and every day.  I hope you will too.</p>

It was a realization that summed up the key to a peaceful existence.</p>
<p><em><strong>&#8220;The key to peace, is to realize there is no right or wrong on matters of opinion.&#8221;  </strong></em><strong>John Derrick, 2008</strong></p>
<p>It may not sound like much at first glance, but when you recognize that everything is based on opinion, this message takes on a deeper meaning. How many lives have been lost because of differences of opinions? How many wars? How much suffering?</p>
<p>Most of us are nothing more than a walking, talking collector of opinions. Some we came up with on our own, but most of them were given to us by others. Opinions are dished out like facts from our parents and teachers at an early age. You get them from your church, newspaper, coworkers and local community. The television is teaching an entire generation their “facts”, all the while the audience is unaware of the nature of opinions.</p>
<p><strong>What is a fact?</strong><br />
A fact would have to stand the test of time! When we look back at the generations in our past, it is easy for us to laugh about their facts because our facts tell us that they had everything wrong. Doesn&#8217;t it stand to reason that future generations will look back at us laughing at how we had it all wrong?</p>
<p>Facts can not change&#8230; and since the facts are always changing, it seems pretty obvious that the facts of today are nothing more than the opinion that is most agreed upon.</p>
<p><strong>ALL OPINION:</strong><br />
Who&#8217;s religion is correct<br />
Which political party is correct<br />
What is good and what is bad<br />
Legal and illegal is nothing more than the opinion of the prevailing government</p>
<p>Even definitions which appear to be fact are always changing. What is big today will not be big tomorrow… so was it ever big to begin with? What looks good today may not look good in the years to come. (Look at haircuts from the 70&#8242;s or 80&#8242;s). Everything that was fast in 1970 is considered slow today.</p>
<p>So someone may point out that a specific measurement of objects will always be a fact. If a ball is 10 inches in diameter today, it will always be 10 inches in diameter. No, even that is not true. The ball will deflate someday. Eventually it will decompose into nothing that resembles a ball. What will it measure then? How will you measure it?</p>
<p>You see, everything here in this physical universe is temporary. Your house, dog, cat, car, spouse, children and even your own body is temporary. Physical matter is always changing so there really are no facts, only temporary opinions that masquerade as facts.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s create a hypothetical situation where scientists have created a type of material that will never rust or decompose and it will last forever. Not possible I know, but let’s pretend. They create a 10 inch diameter ball out of this material. Now you have a fact right? Maybe, but it&#8217;s not the size of the ball that brings about the suffering.</p>
<p><strong>It&#8217;s the opinion that people hold about the ball that will cause suffering.</strong></p>
<p>Some will think the ball is the greatest achievement of mankind and a triumphant accomplishment over nature.</p>
<p>Others will say that is represents all that is evil about mankind and that this new material will be a permanent scar on the planet&#8230; just one more poof of our polluting nature.</p>
<p>Still others will claim that man never made the ball at all and that God created the ball in seven days&#8230;. and only his chosen people are worthy to hold the ball.</p>
<p><strong>People fight&#8230; kill&#8230; and die for their opinions&#8230;. because they believe they are facts.</strong></p>
<p>If you want peace in your life, the best place to start is to realize that everything you think you know is just your opinion. Odds are you were probably given it from someone else.</p>
<p>Everything is temporary. You make the temporary nature of your life more painful and shorter in duration by running around fervently arguing your opinions to somebody who is every bit as temporary as yourself.</p>
<p>If everyone suddenly woke up and realized this, the vast majority of human suffering would end.</p>

<p>Even in 1760 Thomas Jefferson knew that mental attitude is everything.  Two people can appear to do the same thing everyday, and yet one of them be hugely successful while the other eventually fails.  Outwardly they may appear the same and appear to do the same things, but the difference is what is going on inside of them.</p>
<p>I was talking to someone this weekend whom I introduced to law of attraction, or positive mind power, or whatever label you want to put on it.  She had been hopeful and optimistic for a couple of weeks, but when I spoke with her on the phone this Sunday, everything that came out of her mouth was negative and she had no idea.</p>
<p>She was telling me she didn&#8217;t have enough money and weather on the west coast was terrible and they froze at a dog show and their dog didn&#8217;t win&#8230;. and so it went on.  I let her speak without interruption to see if she would catch herself at any time.  She never did.   I may speak to her next week sometime and who knows who she will be.  She may be thinking positively, or she may have reverted to her comfort zone of negativity.</p>
<p>I find this common with people who are new to positive thinking.  You can&#8217;t be positive for a day or a week and expect your whole life to change.  It&#8217;s a life commitment.</p>
<p>You may think that you will have to watch your thoughts everyday for the rest of your life, and while that is true, I do have some good news.</p>
<p>The good news is this:  Anything you do consistently for 2 months, becomes a habit.   We all know how hard habits are to break, but we often only think of bad habits.  Good habits can be just as hard to break.  A habit is just your default mode.</p>
<p>If you smoke a cigarette consistently, every hour of every day, after two months you will have the habit of smoking.  Now if you have ever quit smoking, as I did nearly 8 years ago, you know the first few weeks can be extremely hard.   But, if you do not smoke a single cigarette consistently, every hour of every day, after two months you will have the habit of not being a smoker.  A habit is simply a natural state.</p>
<p>So, if you work hard at being positive, for just 2 months, consistantly every hour of every day, you will develop the habit of thinking positively.</p>
<p>Instead of reacting to habits that form without your intention, why not actively create them for yourself?!</p>

<u1></u1>I am not a doctor or holistic practitioner, and to protect my rear-end from any lawsuit, I must advise everyone to consult their physician of choice before undergoing any weight loss program.   With that said, letâ€™s take a look at some of the easy time proven holistic weight loss remedies:</p>
<p><strong>1) Visualization.</strong>  Hold an image of yourself in your mind for 3 â€“ 5 minutes, where you look the way you want to look.  Feel the body changes in your body.  If you cannot visualize yourself at your ideal weight, you will be undermining your weight loss efforts.  You simply can not get <em>thin</em> if you <em>feel fat</em> all the time.  At the bare minimum do this when you first wake up and right before you go to sleep.   Preferably do it as often each day as you remember.  Why not?  Itâ€™s free, it feels good and you can do it at work and no one will have a clue.  Donâ€™t stress it, just let it come natural.<o></o>

<p><strong>2) Drink Water</strong>  I know everyone is going to say you need 8 glasses of water each day, but that formula may be way off.  Stick with this plan:  If your urine is coming out pale yellow you are drinking enough water.  If it is coming out dark yellow, you need to drink more water.  If it looks like coffee, you need to drink a LOT more water.  If it looks clear as water, you may want to cut back on the water you are drinking. <o></o></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>3) Drink Hot Water</strong>   Drinking hot water is an Ayurvedic technique that cleanses your lymphatic system and hastens fat loss. Traditionally, you are not supposed to put anything in the water, even lemon, as you want clean water molecules flushing your system.   With that said, I like to put some <a href="http://johnderrick.com//?p=17">Cayenne Pepper</a> in the water to get all the benfits of cayenne, including a boost to my metabolism.  Sipping hot water is also supposed to help you combat food cravings and snack attacks.</p>
<p><strong>4) Eat Greens</strong> Eat greens, greens, and more greens with every meal. Spinach is my favorite green, and lucky for me itâ€™s also hosts the most vitamins and minerals of any green.   Be sure to mix it up and have some romaine lettuce, dandelion greens, kale, watercress, and bok choy.  Greens are the most missing ingredient in American meals and we as a nation are suffering for it. <o></o></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Have you ever heard a study that says any green vegetable is not good for you?   No, and you never will.  The reason you have all those fairly flat teeth in the rear of your mouth is to chew fibrous materials, like green vegetables. <p class="MsoNormal">You simply cannot consider yourself nourished if you don&#8217;t regularly absorb the vitamins and phytochemicals in greens&#8211;and when you are malnourished, you have food cravings. <o></o></p>
