If You Want More Money & More Time, Change These 5 Things In Your Life
What great thing would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?
-Robert Schuller
I talk to many people who are seeking a change in their life. They want more money and they want more time with their friends and family. They often find themselves on the net searching for something that will give them the change that they want so badly.
When I interview these people further, I find that there are five things that stop them from ever achieving the change they desire. Just five little things that can transform their life.
Here are the five things I see.
1) Not Recognizing An Opportunity
Sometimes opportunity is knocking on the door and a person does not even see it. They get excited at the prospect of change, and they want what the opportunity has to offer, but then they just dismiss it. They say “it sounds too good to be true“, or “i bet it wouldn’t work for me“. Then they continue on their quest of seeking change and guess what, the next time they are lucky enough to run into an legitimate opportunity, they dismiss it in the same manner. It’s a never ending cycle.
Certainly, some things are too good to be true, like the get rich quick schemes that abound on the net. But when I am on the phone with someone, I am presenting a real work-from-home business. One that has changed the lives of thousands of people across the globe. It may not be the right home business for them, which is why I simply present the information and let each person decide for themselves. But it does offer what people are seeking: great pay and time freedom. I know it does and that is exactly why I do it.
There are certainly many other real opportunities out there, just be sure that you can recognize it when it appears. If it seems to good to be true, simply ask for 3rd party references, such as magazine articles in a home business magazine. If it is a real work from home business, certainly some magazines will have articles in it about the successful people who have worked it.
You can use the law of attraction to attract wealth to you and transform yourself into a money magnet, like they discuss in The Secret DVD. Just make sure that you keep your eyes open for that “nudge” from the universe. Looking back I can see that I have manifested things into my life that were exactly in alignment with what I desired, but I didn’t recognize them at the time.
2) Comfort Zone
Even though you may not be happy with your current situation, you may find you have grown comfortable with it. You may not be happy with your job or the commute to work, yet you find comfort in it. You have done it so long that you can’t imagine not doing it. You may feel that this is just the way it is always going to be.
Now when something comes along and offers you what you want in life, I can almost guarantee you, it will be outside your comfort zone. It has to be, because your comfort zone has become not having what you desire. To have what you desire would naturally fall outside of your comfort zone.
The comfort zone will be different for everybody. Some people can’t talk to strangers, where a salesman or bank teller can. Some people can not stand in front of a room, where a public speaker can. Some people can not work outdoors where landscapers can. The key here is that you will have to expand your comfort zone if you want to change your life. The only way to stay within your comfort zone is to continue what you are doing right now, and unless what you are doing right now makes you happy, that may not be the wisest of choices.
3) Not Willing To Put Forth Effort
It is true that you can manifest something out of thin air. I have done it and I may write about it here someday, but it is a very special thing to me and I wear it on my person daily. But to manifest something out of thin air requires a great amount of concentration and a great amount of mental effort and of course belief in yourself.
To make a dramatic change in your life is going to require effort of some kind. If anyone tells you otherwise you had better run the other way. Effort does not mean hard work. I don’t do any hard work, but I do put forth effort into everything I do.
Using myself as an example, in my home business, people request information on how to work from home. I then put the effort into calling them back and help guide them to the information that they need. Once I do that I answer any of their questions and then if they are serious, I teach them how to do what I do. It’s certainly not hard, but it does take effort. I have to make the call, or send off the email.
If someone is not willing to put forth any effort, they will not be able to bring about change in their life. Another example is the use of manifesting cards. I carry one with me at all times and every-time I remember I have it, I look at it, read it aloud and feel it. If I don’t feel anything inside of me when I read it aloud, I read it again and again until I do feel the energy. It’s not ditch digging for sure, but it does take effort.
4) Fear – Both Of Failure And Of Success
Fear is the ultimate paralyzer. Fear of success is not as rare as many people may think.
A lot of fear of success can be attributed to the comfort zone that we discussed earlier. This fear often stems from a belief that you are undeserving of all the good things and the recognition that will come your way as a result of your successes. Not feeling worthy of success often comes from not forgiving yourself. If you have this kind of fear, you need to spend some time alone and go within and truly forgive yourself for everything you think you have done wrong. Forgive everyone who you continue to harbor negativity towards. Invest in yourself to do this because you are worth it. You are an incredible being beyond your current ability to imagine. Contact me if you need help in this.
Fear of failure is another kind of fear that keeps people from bringing positive change to their lives. A person may be to afraid to take a chance because he doesn’t want everyone around to see him fail. He or she may even get to a point in life where they accept the failures in their own life, because they know that they never really tried. This kind of person never totally commits to anything so that if it doesn’t work out, he can accept the failure.
An example of this can be found in my own childhood. I never played baseball, even though I was great at hitting home runs, because I didn’t want to strike out in front of everyone. Luckily I hit a point in my life where I was able to identify this trait and I decided to change it before it ruined my life. I now look at a situation with the exact opposite point of view.
A)I don’t take on anything I am not serious about. B) As long as I give it my all, I never feel bad about the results. Before, I would take on more things than I could handle and I would fail at many of them, usually quiting because I had other thing s that needed attention.
I no longer spread myself out so thin and when I do take on a task, I give it my all. It’s okay to fail at something that you put everything into, but to never fully try, that is something to regret. I think you will find that you hardly ever fail at anything you give your full effort to.
One rarely regrets trying and failing, but to never have tried is something worthy of regret.
5) Procrastination
If you know what you want, don’t put it off any longer. Go out there and get it. Why would you put off happiness? You certainly don’t procrastinate breathing or you would die. You don’t put off eating food for days at a time for the same reason. Why put off self improvement. If you want positive change in your life, the first thing you should do is stop procrastinating.
The key here is to learn what matters to you and put off everything that doesn’t matter. Watching a TV show that you like is certainly not as important as having more time freedom. In fact, most people are watching TV as a form of escape because they would rather watch other people’s lives because they are so unhappy with their own.
Find out what you want in life and make the change today! There is no time to lose. You can’t get back all the years behind you, but you can make sure the years in front of you are better than ever!
