Spirituality – Without All The Serious Hang Ups

We are all spiritual energy beings who are currently having a human experience, but a spiritual person is a person who is conscious of both the physical world and the invisible non-physical world, while a non-spiritual person focuses solely on what can be perceived by the five senses in the physical world.

The difference is very dramatic in approach to life and in the results obtained. A spiritual person does not deal with a physical world problem solely at the physical level. A spiritual person knows that there is more going on here then he or she can perceive with the five senses alone.

Instead of trying to fix countless problems, one after another, spiritual people will go within themselves and fix what is creating or attracting all these problems to them first, and then deal with the so-called physical world problem.

Spiritual people always have more success in life and learn to expect miracles. Non-spiritual people are constantly focused on the problem at hand and as soon as they solve it they find a dozen more problems that have sprung up seemingly out of nowhere.

So now that I have laid the groundwork on the differences between the two ways of approaching life, what I really want to discuss is the misconception that being a spiritual being means that you must be serious all the time. As absurd as it may sound, people who are teachers, such as me, often feel they have to act a “certain way”, especially while in public.

Taking yourself seriously is not a trait of spirituality, at least not to me. Having fun and experiencing joy is certainly more spiritually uplifting then sitting stoic and acting pretentious because you are worried about what others will think of you.

I don’t care what other people think of me. I am beyond that stage in life and frankly I am surprised by many of my colleagues who are worrying about what others think of them to the point that they can’t be silly or joyful in public.

I’ve actually been told, “If you want people to take you seriously you need to act more like a business man.”

Since when are business men spiritual? I have a home business and it’s thriving, but that doesn’t mean that I have to behave like a stuffed shirt. I talk to people on the phone everyday and I laugh with them, exchange jokes and enjoy each others company. I enjoy my time with others.

Since I am the co-creator of my life, I actively choose to have a happy and joyful life. Since this joyfulness is the fuel for success and the life force that drives the law of attraction, I can’t imagine why anyone with this knowledge would want to “act like a businessman”.

Wayne Dyer taught me a long time ago to stop worrying about what others think and he said, “One of the highest places you can get to is to be Wayne Dyer - Is This Law Of Attraction?independent of the good opinions of others.” I love Wayne Dyer, he is a great man and I believe that he follows his own advice, because the first thing most people would have done if they wanted to be a public figure, would have been to change their name. I mean C’mon how many Wayne’s do you know who are intellectual teachers? My hats off to Wayne Dyer, but then he is beyond caring what I or you think of him now isn’t he.
