There are no Ordinary Moments
Standing on the steps at my front door, I notice a big fat bumble bee. He is a busy bee indeed, going from flower to flower crawling around inside each flower for a second and then on to the next flower.
I am totally engrossed in the beauty of this moment. Time stands still. The purple of the flowers become more vivid and the beauty of the moment overtakes my senses. I feel the heat of the sun on my face intensify. A cool breeze removes the heat and it feels wonderful as it passes. My hair tickles my forehead.
The bumble bee leaves the flowers and buzzes around me before he flies off.
Goodbye friend.
Moments like these are always happening, but when you take time to stop and notice them the joy from childhood returns. There are no ordinary moments in life. You’ve just been missing them.
HOMEWORK: Take a moment today to watch and to listen to this wonderful world we are passing through. Really watch and listen without judgement. Become engrossed in the moment. It doesn’t matter where you are, there is a beauty to life everywhere and inside every single thing.
These are the moments that make life special. It’s hard to remember, but you used to live from one amazing moment to the next when you were a child. Everything was new and exciting.
The only thing that has changed since then is you.
Slow down.
Enjoy the moment.
Enjoy being alive.
Every once in a while I actually make time to read an email. Obviously, you’re asking for others to appreciate a moment has evidence boomeranging back to you in this response. You are a blessing, you are blessed, and your energy is duly noted by the Oneness of Wellbeing with all the pride a parent could emit for a wondrous child.
Thank you Judy. Your beautiful comment has made my day brighter.
this is totally worthless drivel!!!
Tried as I have never have I had a moment like that.
If only more people would stop to smell the roses!
Simple appreciation of nature however brief, rejuvinates the soul. A few moments contemplation of a sunset, trees blowing in the wind, birsdsong, or the sounds and sights of the seashore are a treasure that many people miss out on. As John says, slow it down and enjoy certain moments. The world is too fast paced.
Stop and smell the roses… we’ve all heard it, but when we finally have the experience, it is very fulfilling.
Thanks for sharing.
