Failing Your Way To Success – Monday Motivator

When Thomas Edison was trying to invent the worlds first incandescent light bulb, he failed at over ten thousand different experiments before he was finally successful on October 21, 1879. What if he had tried only 9,999 times and then given up. Surely, no one would have blamed him. After all, he was often ridiculed and told it couldn’t be done.

There are thousands of people who quit their dream because others told them it couldn’t be done. To attempt to succeed over 10,000 times takes an inner belief that most people simply do not have. Would you continue to struggle for success after failing 10,000 times? How many failures did it take you before you gave up on yourself?

This is why people like Edison are famous. It is this inner belief and complete disregard for naysayers, that separate the successful from the the rest of the herd. If you want to succeed in life, you will have to begin with an inner belief in yourself and a knowing that you will never surrender. Every time Edison failed at an attempt he didn’t get down on himself, instead he would say he had just discovered another way NOT to invent the light bulb and thus he was one step closer to reaching his goal.

No matter what you wish to accomplish, tell yourself that you will continue trying until you finally reach your destination. Above all else, stop listening to the naysayers, unless you want to end up like them. If you want more from your life, if you want wealth and abundance, then you have to start living and thinking like someone who is successful and wealthy.

Expect to fail along the path to your success. No one succeeds at anything great in life the first time they try. Treat each failure as a learning experience along your way to success.

Let’s say you want to be a millionaire. The first thing you will have to do is leave the herd. You can’t continue to work at a job like the rest of the herd if you want to have something (in this case a million dollars) that the rest of the herd does not have. If you want something different, you will have to do something different.

Secondly, after you start whatever it is that is going to make you a millionaire, most likely your own business, expect to hear members of the herd tell you that you can not do it. Truth be told, they are not rooting for you, you will have to be your own cheer leader. The herd does things it’s way, and the members of the herd do not want to see you succeed, because if you do it will say that they entire herds is wrong, and they don’t want that. They like the comfort the herd provides.

Thirdly, expect to hit some failures along the way. I knowI have. I have ran more than one business and each time I found a failure I knew I was one step closer to finding something that would work.

For example, when I ran a computer company, each computer I sold for $1,300 would make me an average of $300. That was great, but my goal was to earn $10,000 per month. I had to sell and build 33 computers each month to earn my $10,000. I knew there had to be a better way, and I wanted more profit, so now I work with Coastal Vacations. When I sell a package for $1,300, I get a $1,000 profit! That’s over 3 times the profit and I don’t even have to build the computer or hire a staff. So instead of 33 sales needed each month, I only need 10 now. No more computers to build, and thankfully coastal takes care of mailing the vacation package out.

The point is, the herd has always told me to “get a job” like everyone else. I had to be my own cheer leader in order for me to reach my goals.ENJOY YOURSELF. It helps if you enjoy what you do. For me, I enjoy talking to people and I enjoy setting others up with their own businesses, which is why Coastal Vacations works so well for me. When you enjoy what you are doing, you never have to “work” a day in your life.

When I was in my early twenty’s, I enjoyed being a bartender, and that was a great time in my life. Once I settled down with a family, my desires in life changed and so I moved on, but the entire time I was a bartender I never felt like I had to “work” for a living. Everyday was a social event and I had a great time.

Set your goal, be your own cheer leader, ignore the nay sayers , expect some failures along the way, never surrender and always continue to strive for success and you will succeed. Ultimately, you get a life based on your effort and belief.
