Positive Thinking
Uri Gellar has been teaching the power of positive thinking for well over 3 decades, and is quoted with many sayings such as these: “Success really is in the mind” and “Think positive and you’ll act positive”.
Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company is quoted as saying “Whether you think you can or think you can’t — you’re right”
“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty”, is a famous quote of Winston Churchill. Another quote of his, “For myself I am an optimist – it does not seem to be much use being anything else” shows his dedication to positive thinking.
“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results,” is a quote attributed to Willie Nelson.
“A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes,” is a quote from Mahatma Gandhi.
George Foreman once said, “That’s my gift. I let that negativity roll off me like water off a duck’s back. If it’s not positive, I don’t hear it”.
I really feel that W. Clement Stone sums it up in this precious gem of a quote: “There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is a positive or negative”.
I could literally fill dozens of pages with quotes from famous and not-so-famous people who not only believe in positive thinking, but also actively practice it. These successful people are leaving a trail of breadcrumbs behind, so that others may follow.
If you think about it, every rags-to-riches story shows someone who thought positively despite what appeared to be going on around him or her. For one to go from rags-to-riches, one has to ignore the rags and the current circumstances in order to obtain the riches. No one lives a fulfilling life experiencing all the greatness life has to offer by thinking negatively.
I am sure you have heard of motivational speakers, such as Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Zig Ziglar, or any other of hundreds of famous motivational speakers. Obviously, all motivational speakers are positive thinkers, so think about this:
How many negative-thinking pessimists do you know? How many of them are successful? How many un-motivational speakers are there? Would you pay money to learn to think negative? No, I wouldn’t either, which is why you don’t find any negative thinking people teaching others how to be successful.
I know this may seem obvious to you, but most of us don’t put two and two together. You and I both know that life coaches, motivational speakers, business teachers and the like are all positive thinkers. We also want to be successful in our own lives, but we don’t see that in order for this to happen we have to change the way we think and become positive thinkers ourselves.
Science has proved with numerous studies that positive thinking, also known as optimism, leads to a longer and healthier life. Don’t take my word for it, look it up yourself.
On Oct 25, 2005 ABC World News ran an article by Ned Potter that opened with the following line: “A growing mountain of evidence suggests that an upbeat, positive attitude could be the key to a long life. ”
The Mayo Clinic has an original article available on their website titled “Prediction of All-Cause Mortality by the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory Optimism-Pessimism Scale Scores: Study of a College Sample During a 40-Year Follow-up Period”
At the end of the article, the conclusion of the study is stated thusly: “CONCLUSION: In a model that adjusted only for sex, a measure of optimistic vs pessimistic explanatory style was a significant predictor of survival during a 40-year follow-up period such that optimists had increased longevity.”
If you go to the popular search engine, Google, and type in “positive thinking longer life” (without the quotes), you will find nearly 4 million web pages to visit for yourself if you are interested in doing your own research.
Critics of these studies explain the studies results by pointing out that optimistic people are less likely to be depressed, they cope with stress better and are more likely to be physically active and that it’s these things that lead to longer and healthier lives.
So even if the critics were correct, the worse thing they can say is that positive thinking leads a person to healthier habits, and these habits lead to longer and healthier lives. That doesn’t sound too bad to me.
Of course, the critics do not know that the mind influences and changes one’s reality. They only see that optimistic thinking leads to positive habits and that positive habits lead to greater things. Either way you look at it, positive thinking leads to an optimistic outlook on life, and the result is a longer, healthier and happier life.
The method of manifesting with gratitude cards will make use of the power of positive thinking, but if you want to learn how to have a positive outlook on life, especially if you are plagued with negative thoughts, you will want to visit www.YouCanThinkPositive.com
Fighting against your negative thoughts only gives them more power. In the words of the Borg, “Resistance is futile”.
If you beat yourself up over your negative thoughts, you will only create more negative thoughts. If you scream out “no” or “stop”, it only adds to the negativity. You can not use force or mental censorship to change from being a negative thinking person to a positive thinking person, because the very method itself causes more negativity.
The only technique I have found to reliably change myself from a pessimist to an optimist, in two months or less, is outlined fully on www.YouCanThinkPositive.com
You will begin to program your subconscious mind with positive beliefs and positive expectations just by using this Manifesting With Gratitude Cards course. Your conscious thoughts all stem from your subconscious mind where they are formed.
Think about it for a moment. Where do your thoughts come from? What is forming them? When you see something in your environment, what is it that makes you react and feel differently from everyone else?
The answer is your subconscious mind. Experts would say that your past experiences have been saved as memories and your conscious mind draws upon these memories. In part, this is true, but it is your subconscious mind that is stringing these memories together and using them to create your entire outlook on life.
Your subconscious mind is programmed by your conscious mind. Your outlook on the world today is stored in your subconscious, and if you program yourself to think positively every day and expect positive things to happen you to, your subconscious mind will begin to change to be in alignment.
Repetition is the key to learning, so you have to create a pattern of positive thought, and repeat it over and over and soon, that pattern of positive thought will no longer be an efforted action. It will become your natural state of being.
Whatever your natural state of being currently is, you can be sure that it was created by thoughts and actions in your past that were done repeatedly. Today’s beliefs are based on yesterdays programming.
Repetition is how the human mind learns. If a child wants to learn the alphabet, they sing it repeatedly until they magically learn every letter.
You can use this same method to harness the power of positive thought. This course will give you a method whereby you are thinking positively every day, multiple times per day, until it becomes a habit.
Once you develop the habit of positive thought, you will have programmed your subconscious mind to think positively. You will expect positive things to happen to you, and they will. You will shape and create positive experiences for yourself and learn how to live your life in joy. This is the key to harnessing the power of positive thoughts.
